Prevent Cancer by Detoxing and Eating Right: Coffee Enemas & Gerson Therapy

Prevent Cancer by Detoxing and Eating Right: Coffee Enemas & Gerson Therapy

I know coffee enemas sound gross, but I highly suggest you read this post entirely before you judge the title of it.  I learned about coffee enemas after watching a wonderful documentary called The Beautiful Truth, which covers the dangers of MSG in our food, and later discusses Gerson Therapy.

I’ll give you the gist of Gerson Therapy but I suggest you check out these two documentaries to learn more: The Beautiful Truth and The Gerson Miracle. They are very informative, and fascinating at the same time.  You can watch them via Netflix instantly or you can purchase them on Amazon. (Check out the links at the bottom of the post.) You can also check out The Gerson Institute’s website.

Ok, so you’re probably wondering what Gerson Therapy is and what the heck it has to do with coffee enemas. Well, Gerson Therapy is a natural, nutritional approach to curing (and also preventing) cancer, along with several chronic diseases like: Diabetes, Arthritis, Tuberculosis, Heart Disease, Allergies, and many, many more. It is also just a healthy way to live and possibly prevent diseases. The therapy was developed by a German physician (Max Gerson) in the 1930’s.  He originally created the dietary program to treat his own migraines and he had much success. With that he expanded his program to individuals with conditions like arthritis, diabetes, tuberculosis, and cancer….

The Basics of Gerson Therapy

  1. Diet: The diet consists of three full vegetarian meals, which are freshly prepared from organically grown vegetables and whole grains.
  2. Juices: 10-13 glasses of fresh, raw juice are consumed daily.  Juices usually consist of a green leaf/apple juice blend and a carrot/apple juice blend.
  3. Detoxification: This is where the coffee enema ties into Gerson Therapy! During the therapy, the liver is detoxified with several coffee enemas.
  4. Supplements: Various supplements like flax-seed oil are consumed daily.
  5. Rest

How Gerson Therapy Works

Gerson therapy is considered a metabolic therapy. This therapy is based on the idea that disease is caused by the body’s buildup of toxic substance (like pesticides, fertilizers, pollutants etc). Toxic substances like these are believed to alter the chemical makeup of our food by lowering the potassium levels and raising the sodium levels. When these sodium and potassium levels are altered, cells metabolize indifferently, and this is what can cause cancer and other diseases. Therefore, the goal of this therapy is to eliminate toxins from body and enhance the immune system so the body can fight off cancer, and other diseases.

Charlotte Gerson, Max Gerson’s daughter and predecessor states that the therapy “restores the body’s incredible ability to heal itself, with no damaging side effects,” unlike chemotherapy, radiation, and pharmaceuticals.

So now you know the basis of Gerson Therapy and how it ties into coffee enemas.

**I would also like to note that several physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and other groups like the American Cancer Society have completely disregarded the ways of Gerson Therapy. Why you ask? The cancer industry is making so much money off chemotherapy and radiation, so of course they don’t want you to know a cheap alternative and effective way to prevent and cure cancer. That is why Gerson Therapy is kept top secret. Shockingly, The American Cancer Society brushes off Gerson Therapy, basically making a statement that there is no proof that toxins from foods and environmental pollution is the main cause of cancer and other diseases. Come on people, this seems like common sense to me!

**Max Gerson is believed to have been poisoned with arsenic by an unknown individual who did not want Gerson’s holistic practices to reach the public eye. This shows how big of a threat he was to physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and cancer institutes.

The Coffee Enema

Sorry it has taken so long to get to this point, but I believe the background information on Gerson Therapy is important for you know.

First of all, the purpose of a coffee enema is to detoxify the liver (not cleanse the colon).  The reason why coffee is used is because caffeine helps aid with the detoxification process.  The caffeine that is absorbed into the body stimulates the liver and bile ducts to empty toxic bile into the colon to be disposed of. By releasing these toxins, there is now room for new toxins within the body to enter the liver for detoxification. Cool, huh?

I love coffee enemas. They sound odd and uncomfortable to talk about, but I really don’t care! Lol. Since doing them, I have more energy, I have less brain fog, and the dark circles under my eyes have lightened up dramatically. I hope that you will consider trying it out. Many websites recommend doing two enemas a week starting out. You may want to do it once, or twice a month. Do whatever you are comfortable with. Just don’t do them everyday, as your body may start to rely on them.

The Coffee Enema Procedure

Make sure you are well hydrated before the procedure.

It is best to have a bowel movement prior to the enema so that you will be able to retain for longer.

What You Will Need:

  • 3 to 4 cups Distilled water (room temperature)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons organic coffee (must contain caffeine and be flavorless) I use Kroger Private Selection Organic Coffee.
  • Cooking pot to use on the stove (preferably stainless steel)
  • Strainer or sifter (with small enough holes to filter coffee grinds)
  • Reusable Enema Bag or bucket
  • Lubricant (organic coconut oil, olive oil, grape seed oil, or any oil will do) I use this coconut oil.
  • Timer or Clock

Preparing the Coffee

  • Add 1 cup of distilled water to pot.
  • Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of organic coffee to pot of water and stir.
  • Boil coffee/water mixture for about 3 minutes, and then simmer for 20 minutes.
  • After simmering, strain coffee grains with a sifter or small-holed strainer.
  • Add 2 to 3 cups of distilled water to hot coffee mixture to cool it down. The coffee should be about body temperature now (not too hot, not too cold). If you are unsure, it is better for the liquid to be too cold, rather than too hot. If it’s too hot, you could do some serious internal damage.
  • Pour coffee into enema bag or bucket.

*Make sure the clamp on the enema tubing is closed.

Preparing for the Enema

  • Place a towel down in the bathroom for you to lie on.
  • Position enema bag or bucket about two feet above the ground. You can  attach an enema bag to a door knob, a chair or whatever is convenient. *If the door knob or chair is too high above the ground, use a coat hanger to lower the enema bag.
  • Lubricate the tip of the enema tube with any organic oil.
  • Make sure that you have a clock or timer with you and lie down.
  • Lie down on your right side with your knees pulled in towards your chest.
  • Insert the tip of the enema tube slowly and gently into the rectum.
  • Release the clamp and allow the coffee fluid to flow into you. This will feel very odd at first, but you will eventually get used to it.
  • Try to retain the fluid for around 15 minutes. If you have the urge to go, release, and then try again.

*While you are retaining the fluid, you should at some point hear a gurgling or squirting sound come from your abdominal area.  This squirting sound is simply your gall bladder releasing toxic bile into your small intestines for evacuation.

*FYI: Bile is produced by the liver.  Bile aids in the digestion of lipids and helps get rid of toxins in the body by basically “soaking” them up. The gall bladder has the ability to store some bile and it also helps move the toxic bile out.

Wow, this is my longest post yet. Let me know if you have any questions.  Also, check out these documentaries to learn more about Gerson Therapy:

I found your entry interesting thus I’ve added a Trackback to it on my weblog :)…

  2. Love your site man keep up the good work

  3. Thanks for the post, keep posting stuff

  4. I think this treatment is such a blessing from Dr.Gerson and it’s so sad the pharmaceutical industry keeps this natural therapy from the public because there is no scientific evidence, i say that’s a bunch of bs! I recommend the documentary “Dying to Have Known” highly recommended

  5. Hi Ash. I have just come across this site of yours and I was just wondering a few things. I know the Gerson diet is to cures cancer and other diseases, but the thing is I don’t have any disease or cancer but I am just wanting to do a natural but a good detox, one that will work!!! So is that what you did it for just a detox? And how long did you do it for? Did you juices and eat what the diet told you to do only when you did your enema, or did you eat and juiced for longer? 🙂 Sorry about all these questions, just want to do the right thing for my body!!!

    Thanks Ash

    • Kat,

I would love to tell you that I’ve followed all the Gerson Therapy regimes, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I would need to buy a juicer first. The juicers Max and Charoltte Gerson recommend are overly expensive so I would definitely have to buy a cheaper, less effective one. I’m sure it would still do some good though. 🙂 I HAVE, however, followed a strict vegetarian diet for nearly 12 years, so I guess you could say I’ve partially followed The Gerson Therapy diet. Plus, I rarely eat dairy, and try to cook my vegetables at low temperatures. I also use my food dehydrator occasionally to make kale chips.

As for the enemas: I did one enema per week for about a month, and then I stopped. I still do them once, every month or two.

I’ve learned that it’s best to use different detox regimes because one detox may help with one problem, and another detox may help remove toxins from a completely different part of your body. Here are some other detox methods I have tried and I think they are helping: drinking lemon water first thing in the morning every day, taking clay baths, oil-pulling, taking burdock root supplements, and drinking dandelion tea. I plan to create a new post devoted to new detox methods; I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. 🙂

I will tell you: if I ever happen to acquire a horrible illness like cancer, this is the first regime I would try and I would follow it hardcore! 🙂

  6. I found your site through my research after watching the movie DIRT and then Joe Cross’s movie.
All of this makes SO much sense to me.

It’s a life style change and I get it and happily accept it. How, Why, and who the heck can we blame for
not releasing this information earlier? (rt)

Sticking people – humans – on medication for a lifetime doesn’t seem natural. Profitable but
certainly not natural. Money = greed…… what a shame! No wonder there are more people “finding a cure” then there are with cancer.

    Keep up the good work!
    Happy Juicer…

  7. Thanks . I have been looking for something like this . Great information I will be back for information about Gerson diet.
